Saturday Night Live Season 36 Premiere – Amy Poehler To Host, Katy Perry To Perform -SNL season 36 is set to premiere later this month on September 25, 2010 and they recently revealed who was going to host. Well, former SNL alum Amy Poehler will do the honors and Katy Perry will be the musical guest of the evening.

Katy Perry, the 25-year-old pop star, has been all over the entertainment news in the last year or two. She’s been on award shows, have hit singles, debut number one album, been on men’s magazine’s and so on and so forth. Now you’ll get to see more of her on Saturday Night Live.

Perry recently confirmed on her Twitter: “OKAY! My BIG surprise is I’m opening the season of SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE on Sept 25 W/SNL Alum Amy Poehler!!!”

I’m not going to lie, I’m pretty excited to see her on there too. She’s obviously down-to-earth, silly (look at her from her Teen Choice Awards), pretty hot as well as talented.

Amy Poehler, the former SNL alum, will be hosting season 36 of SNL and Perry is obviously excited to be with her. The singer actually reached out to Poehler asking to take part in one of her sketches.

The new season of SNL will introduce a few new cast members including Taran Killam, Paul Brittain, Vanessa Bayer and Jay Pharoah.
