Tony Kornheiser Suspended Over Remarks About Hannah Storm
Tony Kornheiser Suspended Over Remarks About Hannah Storm – Tony Kornheiser, co-host of ESPN’s Pardon the Interruption, was suspended for critical remarks Hannah Storm’s attire.
In another one of his frequent failed attempts at humor, Kornheiser criticized the 47 year old Storm on his Washington-based radio show with comments like, “She looks like she has sausage casing wrapping around her upper body…,” and when she wore a short skirt, he cringed that it was, “way too short for somebody in her 40s or maybe early 50s by now,” claiming that she looked like, “a Holden Caulfield fantasy.”
Kornheiser loves to throw in a High School required reading reference because he thinks it makes him appear more intelligent.
The 67 year old Kornheiser, who was no great feast for the eyes on his short-lived stint on Monday Night Football, was suspended for 2 weeks, just as his adolescent behavior would dictate.
He even mentioned that he shouldn’t bash ESPN, but he thought he was above all of that… which also means he never read the Employee Handbook or paid any attention in those Sexual Harassment seminars that most employees these days are likely required to attend.
John Skipper, executive Vice President of ESPN, issued the following statement:
“Tony Kornheiser’s comments about Hannah Storm were entirely inappropriate. Hurtful and personal comments such as these are not acceptable and have significant consequences. Tony has been suspended from PTI for two weeks. Hannah is a respected colleague who has been an integral part of the success of our morning SportsCenter.”
Kornheiser has since apologized on-air.
What he said off-air is anyone’s guess.
