Darren Clarke is currently just three shots behind the leader after finishing the first round with -4 under par sitting at 67. He had five birdies and a bogey in his first 18 holes.

Gareth Maybin is currently -2 under pair with a 69 score. He recorded birdies at the first, second and last holes and also had a bogey.

The current leader is Matteo Manassero who is -7 under par. Others that have played well include Steve Webster, Chapchai Nirat and Robert Coles who are all sitting at -5 under par.
