Microsoft Raises Subscription Fees For Xbox Live
Microsoft Raises Subscription Fees For Xbox Live – Many gamers are complaining about the recent increase in subscription fees for the Xbox Live service. Microsoft has increased the normally $7.99/month price tag to $9.99/month on it’s Xbox Live gaming services. While Microsoft claims the price increase comes with additional services, customers are still very upset.
A Microsoft spokes person has explained that the price increase was due to all of the additional services it has added to Xbox live service over the last couple years. Services such as Facebook, Twitter, the Last.fm radio service and, in the fall, and live and recorded sports events from ESPN.
The price increases will also apply to the subscription fee deals Microsoft offers like a three-month subscription to $24.99 from $19.99 and a 12-month subscription to $59.99 from $49.99. There will also be price increase for Xbox Live members in Canada, Mexico, and the U.K.
Nobody really likes when prices increase but very often times it is necessary to keep businesses afloat. Microsoft claims even with their price increases they still offer the best value in the industry. I guess the customers will have to be the judge of that one. One person noted that “Microsoft increased the prices because it knows even after all of your complaining, you will still pay the monthly fees”. Funny indeed but seems to be true.
