Ex-NBA Star Walker Attempts Comeback
Ex-NBA Star Walker Attempts Comeback – It looks like former NBA star Antoine Walker is trying to give basketball another shot for his career. Of course, he hasn’t played professional basketball for over two years since he was released by the Memphis Grizzlies. But recently, he is taking a shot at making a comeback.
Walker is apparently playing in a Latin league for the Guaynabo Mets, at least for one month. He has a guaranteed contract in that time span and he’s being paid about $7,000 a week.
A lot of people are just trying to see if he’s in shape enough to play basketball. And if you know Walker’s past history, you know staying in shape wasn’t his best asset. And apparently gambling and drinking and driving wasn’t either.
Okay, that was a cheap shot.
Previously, he tried to get a contract in the Chinese Basketball Association, which is the same league that signed former NBA star Stephon Marbury. Though, for Walker, I guess it just wasn’t meant to be.
In the meantime, Walker is still trying to get out of his $4 million gambling debt and he’s also waiting on the DUI case that he has against him.
I guess he still has a long way to go for any shot at going back to the NBA. But it’ll be a tough one!
