Deadliest Catch Memorial for Captain Phil Harris

Deadliest Catch: Memorial for Captain Phil Harris – For all you Deadliest Catch fans out there, the memorial service for the late Captain Phil Harris will be streamed live tonight on Discovery Channel’s website and on fancast.com as well.

Deadliest Catch
premiered on the Discovery Channel this season to big ratings as fans had heard about the Captain’s passing two weeks after suffering a stroke while filming the current season.

Those who have followed the show know that the captain had battled issues with blood clots in the past.

He allowed the show’s cameramen to continue filming after he was stricken and Discovery Channel has said it will air those segments later this season.

The service will take place in Seattle at 6:30 PM (9:30 ET) and the press release was as follows:

“On Friday, April 30, the Discovery Channel will host a public memorial service for the popular seaman in Seattle.
“Remarks will be made from Phil’s sons, Jake and Josh Harris, several close friends and fellow fisherman, and Discovery Channel executives.
“In addition, a tribute video honoring Phil’s legacy will be shown.”
“Although space at the memorial is limited to 2,000 people, arrangements have been made so that all of Capt. Phil’s fans can attend.”

I would like to extend my condolences to the Harris family, to wish them all the best, and I also would like to thank them for sharing the service with us.

He will be missed.

My heart goes out to the family and friends of Captian Phil Harris. The hours of viewing have given me pleasure and I feel close to him even though we never meet. I also have a son named Jake and while viewing the program understand the aggrivation a son can cause his father even thought you love them with all your heart. I hope and pray the boy’s can find peace in thier lives and alway’s remember that a father wants what is best in him to live through his son’s. Good luck and God bless the Harris boy’s. I mean men.

I feel sad for the Harris family. It is a program I watch very often.
Being in the Lobster industry growing up, it is the kind of show you can be interested in and relate to. He was my favorite Captain. I hope Josh and Jake can fill that very large slot, and with pride carry on Dads tradition for hard work and fulfillment.
    Thank You
