Was Heather Locklear Really Arrested for a Hit-and-Run?
Was Heather Locklear Really Arrested for a Hit-and-Run? – TMZ.com is reporting that Heather Locklear was arrested for a hit-and-run accident, but while TMZ enjoys playing this up as a HUGE accident – like she hit another person and fled – what Locklear actually hit was a No Parking sign near her home.
Wow. Having a slow news day, guys?
The press is on her big time for this but only because she left scene without reporting it.
There is no evidence alcohol was involved, just poor judgment.
Looking at it logically, a neighbor reported hearing the crash at 4AM but didn’t even report it until later (like maybe when the sun came out and they could see what was hit? No concern for anyone’s personal safety here?)
While it is possible that Locklear was driving to an early morning shoot, there’s nothing pointing to this as a plausible explanation, so everyone is doing the bad celebrity math.
My only feeling is that if I’m out at 4AM and hit something solid like a sign, just out of safety concerns, I wouldn’t be so inclined to stop and report the accident at that time either.
The thing is, Locklear didn’t report the accident at all (bad girl!). Police examined debris from the scene and traced it to her 2005 BMW.
She would later be cited and “released” – she is due to appear in court May 17 – but she was NEVER handcuffed and NEVER taken to the station. The so-called arrest is only a technical term designed to screw with the insecure minds of celebrities.
She is currently serving a three-year probation after pleading no contest to reckless driving in 2008. Whether or not this technicality is in violation of her probation is yet to be determined.
Heather, do yourself a favor, girlfriend – go to bed earlier.
