New 100 Dollar Bill Design And Release Date (Picture) – The newest 100 dollar bill design was unveiled today and you can see the design in the image above. As you can see, this new 100 dollar bill looks pretty different from the previous designs.
According to the Associated Press, “disappearing Liberty Bell in an inkwell and a bright blue security ribbon composed of thousands of tiny lenses that magnify objects in mysterious ways.”
The new design will have “the objects” move in different directions which is definitely unique and hard to be duplicated from counterfeiters.
Basically, the Federal Reserve is trying out this new 100 dollar bill in effort to prevent from counterfeit bills and possibly try to scare scare those people who create them. Apparently, there a lot of fraudulent bills circulating around the globe.
According to Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, they estimate “that as many as two-thirds of all $100 notes circulate outside the United States” are counterfeit. I guess you guys should make sure not to exchange for 100 dollar bills outside of the US.
The new 100 dollar bill design was just revealed to us today but it won’t officially go into circulation until sometime in February of next year.
So, don’t be surprised next year when you see some magical new 100 dollar bills that look like monopoly money.
