Dallas Cowboys Head Coach Wade Phillips Fired - Jason Garrett Promoted to Interim Head Coach

Dallas Cowboys Head Coach Wade Phillips Fired – Jason Garrett Promoted to Interim Head Coach – I’m sure you guys have heard by now that Dallas Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips was fired. Well, I’m sure we all saw that one coming even though the owner Jerry Jones kept trying to convince himself that he wouldn’t fire his coach mid-season.

Will firing Wade Phillips actually help the Cowboys win? Probably not. The Cowboys’ offensive coordinator Jason Garrett was promoted to the interim head coach but I doubt a lot will change. Matter of fact, history goes against mid-season head coaching changes but you guys don’t need stats to see that it probably won’t be too successful down the road, right?

Though, Jerry Jones felt forced to do something about how horribly the Cowboys have played and it usually starts with the coaching staff and then players. Now Jason Garrett will essentially have eight games to determine his future with the Cowboys. But how will he do?

He had a great coaching time as the offensive coordinator back in 2007 but since then, the offense has really been up and down. Now he will have to get the job done without Phillips, who was also the defensive coordinator?

Good luck, Jason. You will need it. Of course, I do hope you can turn things around for the Cowboys because they are being mentioned in the same sentence as the winless Bills.

No offense Bills fans!
