Lakers Kobe Bryant Signs Extension Worth $84M
Lakers Kobe Bryant Signs Extension Worth $84M – It looks like Kobe Bryant will probably remain a Laker for the rest of his career as he signs a three-year extension with the team.
Bryant still has one year left on his current contract before the extension even kicks in. He is set to make $24.8 million for the 2010-2011 year and then his $84 million extension kicks in. He will make $26 million in 2011-2012 followed by $28 million in 2012-2013 and ending with $30 million in his final year of 2013-2014.
The difference between his current contract and the extension is the fact that he will not have an opt-out option.
By the time Kobe is done with his contract extension, he will be around 36 years old. And I’m sure he will probably help the Lakers win another championship and prove once again he is worth all that money the team invests in him.
Now that they have Kobe for at least the next few years, the Lakers are all set with all their key players being there. Pau Gasol just signed a contraction extension for three years back in December.
Well, the Lakers are the team to beat in the NBA and until someone stops them, we may see a few championships in the last few years.
