Government Licensing Of Internet Access Will Cause Uproar
Government Licensing Of Internet Access Will Cause Uproar – Apparently, government licensing of the internet is getting closer to reality and a lot of will be extremely angry over the fact, including myself.
There was a recent proposal by a top Microsoft executive that would basically give the government and authority and power to block any individual computer that is connecting to the internet. They are using the excuse of “preventing malware attacks” as their excuse.
They do not want infected computers to spread and in essence, they want to quarantine the source before it gets all over the world. I understand they are looking to cut down on malware attacks and I’m all for it, but in reality, I’m sure there is a lot more behind this that we don’t know.
I mean, I’m for preventative measures but is this really a matter for national security to get their hands on? Should we let the same government control the entire internet and virtually every single computer it’s connected to even though they can’t seem to fix the economy?
I also read that there is a “kill switch” feature that gives the President the emergency power to shut off the internet in the country. Seriously?
For the land of the free, it just seems as though we are getting more and more restricted.
Hey, that’s just my opinion and I won’t be a happy camper is the government licensing of internet access is granted.
